Bomberman GB VS. Wario Blast, 1994

Although Wario got top billing on the American cover, Bomberman is featured way more in the actual game! And in Japan, Wario isn’t even there at all! What a strange localization decision…

Wario Blast is one of my secret shames from my teenage years. It wasn’t a great game, but it was a a very playable Bomberman in my pocket and that was good enough for me! I mean, hell, every level was, basically, battle mode and then you’d fight a boss - rinse, repeat about 8 times. Plus, it had Wario! Granted, there was nothing unique about Wario, and it was weird when you played as Bomberman since you were then fighting three Warios, but whatever! I wasn’t complaining!
